My heart just about stopped today when I went to use my Garmin 305 and it was completely dead. I tried a couple of different chargers and it wouldn't come to life. I went on a bike ride without it hoping it just needed to charge for awhile.
It still wasn't working an hour later. Luckily I found this tip on the gamin website:

You have to hold down the "reset" and "mode" buttons simultaneously then push the on/off button while holding them. It powered right up and all is right in the world again!

Mine didn't do anything when I held down the Mode and Reset buttons and then On, however, it DID start up when I held down the Mode and Enter buttons and then hit the On. Thanks for the suggestion!

Mine didn't work with mode and reset but it did work with mode and start then power.

Couldn't find this in the owners manual, but all I had to do was press reset and my Garmin came back to life. Thank you!!

Mine came back to life by pressing mode and enter simultaneously, then pressing the on button. Thanks to all who helped! I was bumming about not having it for my long run tomorrow. Happy day!
